Discussion/Reflection Questions

  1. Reflect on the prayer “for Joy in God’s Creation” (BCP page 814). Share with each other any experiences you have had of God’s presence in the natural world.
  2. Have you had a direct experience of pollution or environmental degradation? Is there a “natural” place that you used to enjoy that is no longer there? Share these experiences with each other.
  3. Have someone read Genesis 1:1-23 aloud. What word or phrase “jumps” out at you? Share that with the group with no discussion. Have someone else read it aloud a second time. Where does this passage touch your life today? Share this with the group with no discussion. Have a third person read the passage aloud. Share your responses to this question:"From what I've heard and shared, what do I believe God wants me to do or be? Is God inviting me to change in any way?" End with a time of prayer for each other.
