At the center of
our connection with God lies prayer. To that end we listen for
His will in our lives, and let Him draw us closer to Himself
through our silent mediations on Scripture and our corporate
prayers. Our Spiritual Life Commission holds a Quiet Hour
on the first Saturday morning of each month because of the need
for all of us to learn how to pray more fruitfully. All are welcome,
be they regular attendees or infrequent ones. 
The
meetings are held in the church proper with silent meditation
interspersed with devotional readings or other brief vocal contributions
by those present, and only if they feel led to do so. We are
fortunate to have a trained spiritual leader 
who
is able to maintain the group's focus on prayerful meditation.
This group also sponsors an annual Quiet Day of Prayer
led by a guest speaker with a particular theme. This special
event features a variety of venues all aimed at deepening our
spiritual life. From time to time the group utilizes our multipurpose
room to watch spiratual videos 
to learn
about methods of prayer and to develop more meaningful prayer
lives. The group is planning a autumn prayer breakfast with an
open invitation to all who are interested. The Spiritual Life
Commission also maintains a prayer chain ministry for the St.
Edward's community. It is our hope that you will join our Commission's
meetings and other activities and discover how warmly you will
be received and be enriched by your time with the Lord.
