FAITH ALIVE

On the weekend of April 4 through 6, 2003, St. Edward's parish experienced a unique blend of praise, prayer and "passing the peace" when it welcomed over 40 Faith Alive visitors who joined with us to more deeply explore our lives together as a Christian family. Words cannot adequately describe the real sense of the Holy Spirit among us as emotions ranged from laughter to tears (mostly of joy!!) and the time seemed to fly by in a variety of venues both at the church, other churchs, retirement homes, and parishoners homes. Nearly eighty St. Edwardians combined their talents and time to make this wonderful experience "happen" for the over one hundred and forty participants. However, without the hours of dedication and self-sacrifice from two very special parishoners who were our coordinators, Amy Sweirnik and Dottie Gschwend, the efforts of many would have not blended into the symphony of success that was heard from the parish hall to the sanctuary and beyond. The memories are many and, of course, vary for each of those who were present. But perhaps this small gallery that follows will help capture at least some of the common joy shared by all.
