Where can you hear the overture to Handel's Messiah and Freddy Mercury's Bohemian Rhapsody both on the same program? At St. Edward's, in a free concert!
Auscultation Brass will offer an “Auscultation Brass Rocks” concert at St. Edward’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 3 p.m. The church is located at 2453 Harrisburg Pike in Landisville, and, although the event is free, an offering will be taken.
In addition to a smattering of classical offerings, the well-known local brass ensemble will feature a few numbers that fit in the rock and pop genres. They will also offer several marches and a rousing Broadway number.
The Auscultation Brass is a group of Lancaster doctors who in 1985 decided it would be fun to practice their brass instruments in addition to medicine.
While developing a large repertoire of classical and popular music, they perform at various community functions, medical events, local churches and retirement communities. They have even played outside of Carnegie Hall!
The group contributes to charitable causes from honoraria it receives.
